Bone Idle!!

A few days back I stumbled upon an article stating that the whole week would be celebrated as “Laziness Week” or something like that. What caught my eye was the way it was presented to the readers. It was written in such a way that as though they were indicating that now laziness could be enjoyed freely without actually feeling any guilt. On seeing it I couldn’t help but smile as I was forced to wonder why laziness is always looked upon in only one way i.e. the negative way. I have always wondered why laziness has always been taken in a negative way or has been related to those qualities which are synonymous with people who have failed in their life. Laziness is an art, which many people do not use properly. Lazing around for many hours doing nothing but just being with your self. Just do nothing. Waste few hours just like that. Then you will understand how good it is to be lazy.
If ever, you guys out there get a chance to know me, one thing you will definitely observe is a great amount of laziness in me. There is no denying it. I am a born lazy bug. Nothing in this world excites me more than laziness. Laziness has its own charm. It has its own way of making people feel happy and cozy. While lazing around, you feel as though the world is an easier place to live in.
The real essence of laziness is enjoyed during that part of the morning when we get up in the morning and realise that there are more 15 minutes of sleep left for us. Those 15 minutes just seem to be so good that we almost forget the real pain and problems in our lives. A better example can be when we get to know that there won’t be any work in the office that day and we can laze around aand relax in our chair. What a Bliss!
By laziness I do not mean to refer to procrastination. Even though people postpone things because of laziness, I do not intend to talk about that. My thoughts are not about the aspect of laziness. I am referring to the enjoyment we get in life by just relaxing. Most of the time I see to it that I do quality work in such a way that I do not have to labour for many hours. Many times people have misunderstood that to be my innovativeness but I do that only out of laziness. Who wants to work for long hours continuously? After all laziness is not a negative thing if we can know how to use it.
One advantage of relaxing (read lazing around) on a beach is we are exposed to many visual treats. Apart from the obvious ones we can also see water, sky and sand (provided we get deviated from more interesting things). These days people shell out 200 bucks at a coffee shop just to enjoy laziness (and of course coffee). All these lounges and coffee shops have been established for people to let them experience laziness. Unfortunately, we have to shell out many bucks to enjoy laziness.
Sleeping on a bed, sitting comfortably in a chair while doing work, eating very leisurely and slowly, swinging on a swing, and every activity which we do casually without being affected by the outer world can all be termed as enjoying laziness. From what I think all the words like comfort, leisure, relaxation, rest etc., can be termed as synonyms of laziness. After all, there is a part of laziness in each and every above activity we do.
In fact luxury is what I term as costly laziness. The more money you have the more luxurious life you will lead making your life easier and you will be able to enjoy laziness in a costly way. Like they say,†Live Life King Size”.
I also want to tell those Governments who want to eliminate inequality that laziness also can help in that matter. Laziness enjoyed by a poor man and also a rich one is the same. They both find the world to be happy place irrespective of whatever problems they have. So, I want to convey to the world that laziness has no caste, creed, language or colour. So you guys out there cannot stop us from enjoying laziness. Long Live Laziness!
