CA Entrance Paper Leaks
Current Affairs August 19th, 2007From the time it got established, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has never experienced this situation. I am referring to the leak of the CA entrance test paper. For the first time in 57 years from the time it was established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, the exam papers for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) got leaked creating a sense of shock and curiosity among the members of the Institute along with the students pursuing the course. CPT is held every three months and is the entrance test for the CA course. This leak was exposed by a TV channel through it’s sting operation. The leak occurred at the Delhi center. According to the Secretary of ICAI, Mr. Ashok Haldia, FIR has been lodged against all those people whose names have been mentioned in the TV sting.
As expected, the ICAI called for an emergency meeting in New Delhi to probe the meeting. Looks like after 57 years of struggle, the leak ghost has bitten the CA institute. It is a very well known fact that the institute takes immense care to ensure the safety of the papers and the future of the students. Who wants to write the exam again when they are informed that the papers have been leaked.
I don’t know about others but I would like to bring those involved in this leak on their knees. Who likes to know that the papers of their Institute have been leaked. The reputation the Institute demands is all because of the professional way it deals its matters whether they are related to the members or the students.
Yours Always,
