Examinations are the testing tools used by all the education institutes all over the world to judge a student’s capability and intellect. And with the amount of pressure increasing due to competition from all angles coaching became a hope to all the aspiring students. But is coaching really serving its actual purpose? Read On.

I always thought that accumulation of knowledge is more important than to study to just pass an examination. So I never gave any importance to the coaching classes being offered by numerous lecturers guaranteeing success. I heard from a knowledgeable person that teaching is nothing. It only depends on how you learn. While I feel that learning is the elixir of life or in fact should be the elixir of life, not many of my counterparts second my views. This, many say is only the thought of rank holders or students who top their exams. Then I should be a rank holder!!! Unfortunately which I am not.

I have met many rank holders who are extremely hard working, but, with due respect to all of them, I found a sense of direction, emotional intelligence, spatial ability missing in most of them. I am no good at them also. But apparently these qualities do count if you are a aspiring manager.

Another important point here is that any if a coaching centre has acquired a good number of students, and fortunately for them if most of the students are successful, they can be sure that they got themselves a good foundation in this business. May be due to this trend of coaching classes more students tend to believe in the tutors than in themselves. There was no such craze in coaching classes in earlier decades but still students excelled. This coaching craze has no doubt increased the success rate by a little margin but also has a negative aspect that the fees charged is exorbitant running into several thousands of rupees and students of affluent parents can only afford it. It is sufficient if the coaching classes make the students have the feel of the examination then there should also be some facility for students who cannot afford the coaching.

I want to conclude saying that coaching is nothing but a business, which try to instill in the students immense hope along with some unnecessary fear. How they do it is their greatness!!!!

Yours Always,
