Roger ‘King Of Grass’ Federer
Sports July 9th, 2007
It’s Federer again at Wimbledon. Roger Federer has clinched his fifth consecutive time the Wimbledon Championship Trophy and equaled the record set by the Swedish Champion Bjorn Borg. It has now become a regular feature of his career to take home the coveted cup and add another Grand Slam title to his already existing 11 Grand Slams. Record wise he is three less than the great Pete Sampras. Federer defeated his rival on court Rafael Nadal in the match which lasted for the whole five sets. It was so great to see Fedex beat Nadal in this final after he got defeated in Nadal’s hands in the French Grand Slam.
We can’t say that the victory to Fedex came easily with Nadal giving tough competition on what supposed to be good finale to the cup. So contrasting is the top two seeded players play is that when it comes to playing on grass Fedex is unbeatable and on clay Nadal rules. Where as Fedex is known as the King of Grass, Nadal on the other hand is known as the King of Clay.
Even though I would love to see Federer win over Nadal, I am some how starting to like Nadal’s play. He is so energetic and deceptive in his play and moves so easily round the court. I am happy hat Federer has some very tough competition in Rafael Nadal. This gives the viewers a great tennis to watch in the coming years.
Congrats Fedex for your achievements.
Yours Always,
